Create a Playbook with AI Playbook Builder
AI Playbook Builder turns a written strategy idea into a complete TensorAlgo Playbook with one supported strategy.
It uses existing supported TensorAlgo strategy blocks. It does not write custom code, save the Playbook automatically, or activate it without your approval.
You can review and adjust the generated Playbook, then choose Save or Save & Activate. After saving, you can add more strategies up to your account's plan limits.
AI Playbook Builder uses AI credits.
Before you start
Make sure:
- your account has enough AI credits or an applicable Platform Credit balance;
- your plan has capacity for another saved Playbook;
- you know the market, direction, and main conditions you want the Playbook to use.
A clear prompt produces a more useful Playbook.
Step 1: Open AI Playbook Builder
- Open Settings.
- Select AI Playbook Builder.
- Find the section titled Describe your strategy idea.

Step 2: Describe the Playbook
Write what the strategy should look for in plain language.
A useful description normally includes:
- the instrument or market;
- long, short, or both directions;
- the session or timing;
- the main setup or sequence;
- important confirmation conditions;
- important location or market-context filters;
- minimum setup quality or risk/reward preferences.
Example:
Create a London NQ sweep-and-reclaim Playbook with delta confirmation, a VWAP location filter, minimum B setup grade, and a risk/reward check.
You can also select one of the example prompts and edit it.
Step 3: Choose the market and direction
- Select the Instrument.
- Select the Direction:
- long; - short; - both.
- Review the written prompt so it matches those selections.
The instrument can be adjusted while reviewing the generated Playbook, but it becomes locked after the Playbook is saved.
Step 4: Build the AI Playbook
Click Build AI Playbook.
TensorAlgo will:
- interpret the request;
- assemble supported strategy blocks;
- create the Playbook basics and trade settings;
- create one supported strategy;
- run validation;
- provide an activation preview.
The page displays the AI credits charged for the request when that information is available.
If a Playbook has already been generated, selecting Rebuild AI Playbook replaces it using the latest prompt and selections.
Step 5: Review the Playbook basics
Review and adjust:
- Playbook name;
- instrument;
- short description;
- tags.
Confirm that the name, market, direction, and description match what you intended before saving.
Step 6: Review the generated strategy summary
The generated strategy summary shows:
- strategy name;
- direction;
- logic mode;
- the main condition or sequence labels;
- validation results;
- whether the Playbook appears ready for activation.

If the activation preview says Needs review before activation, you can still save the Playbook, but you must correct the listed issue before activating it.
Step 7: Review advanced trade settings
Open Review or adjust defaults under Advanced Trade Settings when you need to inspect or change details such as:
- low risk/reward handling;
- preferred minimum risk/reward;
- take-profit count and close percentages;
- maximum target distance;
- entry-zone distance;
- minimum or maximum stop distance;
- minimum setup grade;
- break-even behavior;
- optional stop-management and trailing behavior.
Advanced settings should match the way you intend the Playbook to manage valid setups.
Step 8: Save or save and activate
Choose one of the following:
Save
Saves the Playbook without activating it.
Use this when you want to review or extend it later from Settings → Playbooks.
Save & Activate
Runs activation validation, saves the Playbook, and activates it when validation passes.
Activation can fail when:
- the Playbook contains an invalid or incomplete strategy;
- the saved- or active-Playbook limit is reached;
- the active-strategy limit is reached;
- the account is not currently permitted to activate trading features.

Add more strategies later
AI Playbook Builder creates the Playbook with one supported strategy.
After saving, open it from Settings → Playbooks to edit it and add more strategies, subject to your plan's strategy limits.
Important limitations
- The AI only uses supported TensorAlgo strategy capabilities.
- It cannot create arbitrary custom code.
- It does not guarantee that the trading idea will be profitable.
- Generated rules should be reviewed before activation.
- Protected Marketplace strategy logic is not available to the builder.
