Troubleshoot TensorAlgo app installation and notifications
App installation and notification delivery are separate browser capabilities. First identify whether the problem is installing TensorAlgo, showing local Browser alerts, or registering Web Push while away.
The Install TensorAlgo prompt does not appear
The branded prompt appears only when the current browser reports TensorAlgo as installable.
Check these possibilities:
- TensorAlgo may already be installed on that browser/device.
- The browser may not currently expose an installable-app event.
- You may have selected Maybe later within the last seven days.
- The browser may expose installation only through its own menu or home-screen action.
If the browser provides its own Install or Add to Home Screen action, you can use that instead of waiting for the branded prompt.
Installed TensorAlgo opens but notifications are off
Installation does not automatically grant notification permission.
Open Settings → Trade Alerts and check:
- Browser alerts;
- the browser's notification permission for app.tensoralgo.com;
- Web Push registration when you want alerts while the dashboard is not open;
- the lifecycle events you actually want;
- the Playbook's own Alerts control.
Browser alerts work but Web Push is unavailable
TensorAlgo can use local browser notifications while the dashboard is active even when background Web Push registration fails or is unavailable on that device.
This means a test notification can work with TensorAlgo open while Web Push still shows as not registered. Closed-browser delivery requires the browser/device to create a valid Push subscription.
Use the Trade Alerts retry action when it is offered, then recheck the device status. Browser/operating-system Push services can affect background delivery independently from the TensorAlgo page.
Installed app versus normal browser tab
The installed app and a normal browser window use the same website origin, but each browser/device still has its own permission and Push registration state.
If you use multiple browsers or devices, check notification registration separately on each one.
Alerts while completely away
A working Web Push subscription only provides a delivery path. It does not keep a Playbook evaluating.
For eligible Playbooks that need to continue monitoring while TensorAlgo is closed, Background Evaluation remains the feature that continues supported evaluation. The Playbook must also have Alerts enabled and the relevant lifecycle event must be selected.
